This Game was a lot of fun.

I really enjoy the 80's sounding music played during the Game itself.

It invoked a feeling of the Future ahead and Nostalgia at the same time.

It was easy to grasp the game's controls instantly.

The most simple of concepts are sometime the best.

Very entertaining.

Oultrox responds:

Thank you! I know it's kinda simple the game, but we aimed for a week of dev and this came out and we're really proud :D!

Very creative gaming engine and love how you can control two characters at the same time.

The game is very difficult because taking control of two animals is a challenge.

koopke responds:

Yha , one of the problems while I design the levels is that I was already played the mechanics tons of hours before, so I was pretty used to it, and levels sometimes looked even too easy. I promise kitten & chicken 2 would be much more easy though.
:P

You've selected some interesting subject matter for your game.

Countless games have been created about the criminal element including grand theft auto.

Bad people can sometimes be oddly fascinating and inspire works of art.

It's easy to find media based on a different varieties of evil including street trash thugs.

I seen a few media based around greasers such as the classic book of the outsiders.

I assume this game was inspired by the outsiders or the subject matter itself served as inspiration.

The music selected for this game was both old fashioned and cool.

You might find some additional music within the audio portal or do some research on cool 40's, 50's and 60's music.

Your music selection worked because of it's association with your subject matter.

The back and white look was an interesting choose since most submissions are in full color.

Color selection is still important for black and white.

Classic B&W movies had to figure out the proper shade of grey to convey green, red, blue, ect.

The imagination sometimes fills in gaps of color in some instances.

Generally most people prefer images created in color and the colorless image needs to be a lot more polished to compensate.

Color pictures have to look good too; However, the black and white image is held to a higher standard.

You intended to create images to simulate the look of black and white films.

That works for your graphics.

The game play itself was fun but the controls were a bit buggy.

I had difficulty with getting the button for punching to function normally.

The kicking button worked great and so did a few other buttons.

Creating games can be difficult because of it's high chance for action scripting errors.

If you can think up ways to create an easy to create game engine than it would be wise to do that.

something simple like creating a button can function as a miniature game.

Interactive menus on a dvd styled flash movie can function as a game.

I would recommend creating a more simple gaming engine or do more testing.

A more complex gaming engine will require more tests.

I thought this was a real neat game so far.

It's good but still needs improvement.

Thanks for the feedback and amazing rating! I've been learning as3 for about a year now and I guess I am going to have to continue working on a simpler game engine for this. I didn't want to optimize too early, although when I created an optimized version of this it worked great but I hadn't implemented the background scrolling, so I didn't upload that version to this site.

I am trying to fix the controls from being buggy but for the next 'test run'.
Update: I am working on the hit tests which I feel is causing the problems with the keys. I may be calling on too many animations at one time. Not sure, but I think I will optimize for the next upload so that I am using sprites instead of movieclips.

Also, now that I have all the art assets out of the way, I can focus on just coding.

You are off to an interesting start for your fighting game.

You select characters and than watch entirely different stick figure fight scenes.

It's an interesting format for an interactive dvd styled flash movie.

Your movie would be way better as a fully realized fighting game.

I been currently working on my flash game based around the theme of samurai.

You can add an intro, title screen with looping animation and finally sub menus.

These small extra touches will add more polish to your interactive menus.

The character select screen was brilliant.

You made a neat interactive movie but it would still be way better as a fully functional game.

Just think of creative ways to create your gaming engine.

Use action script that you easily understand and transform it into a gaming engine you can make.

You might have to cancel certain features of your game and think of creative work around.

Neat interactive movie but as previously mentioned a game would be awesome.

I never think about to make this a real game..That will be too much for me

Just looking threw some of your old movies and this is pretty impressive for something thats just a select your character screen it's actually very interesting and well made.

This has to be the best of your movies i seen so far. keep it up.

Much appreciated dein!
I'm hopeing to get back into doing some animation this summer..ya know..some stuff of higher qual.. I find with university you actually do have a lot of free time and the summers are like twice as long.

A little inconsient but i liked it.

I loved the introduction you used but the first impression was too fancy and made the rest of the game look terrible.

When i got pasted the intro i was disappointed by the rest of the game's appearance.

If you had a good overall impression the audience is willing to judge more fairly when all the graphics are consistent.

Some of your backgrounds could use more definition and detail. some of the parts in the game looked like simple mazes.

Other than graphics this is a pretty good recreation of the first mission in final fantasy 7.

In closing awesome action scripting but i have the feeling your potential is far beyond creating tributes.

Fafey responds:

Yea I agree, it wasn't the greatest, but The code is awsome. im sure you agree that If I had help for the graphics it would be awsome!

The daily toons keep getting better.

Good work on your game mr chocobo. I personally think you could made the begining menu screens look a lot better. black and white menu screens look very bland.

if your a first time spriter than bravo. It's looks a lot better than the average sprite movie/ game on this site.

Great job on the action scripting. I'll be looking forward to more daily toons from you.

DAIRYDOG responds:

Thanks, this is my first sprite product. <3 <3

This could have really used a preloader.

This a pretty decent game but maybe you should put pepole with slower computers into considerration.

this is a passable game but it'll be overlooked for lack of preloader even just adding the Ng preloader will do the trick.

sexmafnfnfnfnfnfnf22 responds:

i did add a preloader sorry :D

An orignal concept and well exucated.

This was a pretty neat concept. you mess with various keys on the keyboard to have anti clock clock do varrious dance moves.

I had a good time messing with all the keys. I would have to say that was worth the loading time.

I loved messing with the keys to see what dance move you's do next.

I never seen any other submission like this so you get bonus points for orignalty.

AntiClockClock responds:

Thank you - I tried to cut loading time as much as I could but there is so much video in this! :)

This game is pretty fun.

That was some really good art you did there. it looked almost ripped from the anime itself but i somehow doublt it.

Your very talented sir.

This is one of your better works and i'am thoughly impressed by your art. some more features in the game would be nice like some mini games and such but the main reason i love it is your humor.

a fun game with a lotta humor but i would'nt mind seeing your future games have more features.

Overall a good parody even though i never seen GTO before.

DAIRYDOG responds:

thx
