The drawing style used for this pokemon has a much more distinct look than the anime.

I seen way too many anime fan flashes that attempt to create a carbon copy of the original.

The parody is based more on the game boy games and many of the references will be misunderstood by me.

I really like your more cartoony drawing style because it really adds a sense of fun.

The characters had very expressive faces and a lot of frame by frame has been used.

I didn't find this parody to be funny in my own personal opinion; However, the frantic pace added a certain entertainment value.

Many of the male voices sounded the same because one actor was likely multi tasking.

It is sometimes difficult to get extra voice actors for each character in certain situations.

Sometimes you can recognize the actor doing multiple voices despite their disguise.

One actor per role is the ideal goal of any flash movie.

You seemed to have already established a fanbase and many of your fans would likely help with voices.

The actual voice acting itself was good for the most part.

I like the music selection used for this entire movie and a lot of the tunes referenced classic nintento.

This pokemon parody turned out to be better than average because of it's more distinct drawing style.

Make some original non parody movies to mix things up.

I would love to see your drawing style used to create different kinds of movies as well.

Thank you for taking the time to write such an in-depth critique for both my videos. I'm glad you found things to like despite the humor not being your thing, and yes my work as of late is heavily influenced by Scott Pilgrim. I'm working towards making more original stuff.

I've definitely seen worse early submissions to this website.

I was expecting much worse based on many of the harshly worded reviews.

I noticed a lot of enthusiasm behind this movie and a willingness to try new things.

You utilized a lot different camera angles and the music added a sense of scope to your work.

The cartoon was obviously the work of an inexperienced animator; However, increased run time could significantly improved upon the movie's quality.

An increased runtime gives you time to develop characters, move the story forward, experiment and generally entertain the audience.

The downside of an increased runtime is a larger workload and risk of creating a boring feature.

You want to avoid including filler in longer movies to avoid dragging things on.

I've enjoyed watching this short animated feature and look forward to your new stuff.

STOOVRS responds:

Thanks! I really appreciate the encouragement! I almost have all the voice actors done with acting for my newest animation, Pikachu Finally Snaps!

This movie was kinda neat because it looked to be created in flipnotes.

But the actual movie had a lot of color.

I assumed you used a newer version of flipnotes to create this movie.

The additional colors in the new version of flipnotes will make more creating better looking cartoons.

Perhaps you can create more movies using that version of flipnotes.

Keep practicing

STOOVRS responds:

im thinking of doing a pokemon animation with voice acting and made from flipnote studio. it'll be black and white to fit the classic game boy filter. i could need a little help with the voice actors from newgrounds. perhaps you could be in it as well.

I love how you drawn your city with buildings using multiple shapes for the standing structures.

Most people just draw their cities as a series of rectangles and squares with windows.

You've avoided a very common flash artist mistake commonly seen on other internet cartoons.

Buildings are very hard to draw correctly and you managed to accomplish this.

The alien egg had some nice squash and stretch animation.

The ufo had a great sound effect and the music was fitting.

This was a surprisingly enjoyable quick movie.

akoRn responds:

thank you :) i made this while i was in college, its a wonderful learning experience

Silly little quick gag using spiderman and the hulk as characters.

You did a better job drawing the hulk than spiderman.

Spiderman's costume is missing the web design on the face and body.

You can easily improve at drawing spiderman by adding a spider web onto his costume.

Spiderman also has a spider on his chest for his costume.

Look into various spiderman media to make improvements at drawing spiderman.

You could even buy action figures to understand already existing characters in three dimensions.

I like the effect used for snow and how you drawn the snow flakes differently.

You could even change the colors of snow flakes to interact with the lights and shadows of your out door environment.

The house outside had some great coloring.

I hope this review has provided you with feedback useful for future improvement.

I look forward to seeing your other movies.

Rigamarole responds:

I tried to keep spiderman minimalistic. It was a stylistic choice that I went with to save time, considering I didn't want to spend too long on a cartoon based around a silly gag. Thanks for the feedback though! Greatly appreciated my man!

I watched the unknown assassin before seeing this movie.

Watching that movie first has provided a lot of humorous context to this current feature.

The movie can easily be understood as a stand alone entity; However, a certain level of humor becomes lost in translation without the previous installment.

That chick being tortured by those ghosts is no innocent victim because she murdered those three individuals.

The ghosts were dishing out cold revenge towards their killer.

The movie can easily be enhanced by adding some voices to the character's.

The girl only talked in speech balloons and voice acting would be a significant improvement.

I look forward to reviewing your other movies.

Keep drawing and continue to practice your craft.

LightningBolt13 responds:

Hey, I saw your other review, and sorry that I didn't reply. But thank you for commenting. I appreciate it a lot! Yeah I think I should've made it clearer that this wasn't a movie by itself.. And I'll try and voice next time, but I think it'll be worse because I have a really childish voice.

This is actually really cool that you started animated from a significantly young age.

I like the scene scene transition effect of multiple black rectangles blacking out the screen.

And than those same black rectangles disappearing.

If you have managed to save the file used for that effect than you can easily recycle it for future movies.

You created a surprisingly awesome effect for such a young age.

I recommend that you start pumping out movies like a mad man for some extra practice.

You started animating from a surprisingly young age and you will easily have an edge against other animators.

Most internet animators start from much later ages than childhood and teens.

Keep drawing and pump out more movies.

Best of luck with your future endeavors.

I tried my best to gave your movies entirely unbiased reviews and hope to provide you with useful advice.

oscaralexismartinez responds:

Wait, so your telling me your a fan of Awesome Nesscar? If you are, that's cool. And yeah, Awesome Nesscar was been release since 2006, as a school comic for my classmates to enjoy. In the late '2000s Awesome Nesscar was growing near 1,000 fans. It was success & funny back in my childhood, in the '2000s. And it's still popular till today. But on September 29, 2013 Awesome Nesscar is finally released in public. Now the whole world will finally get to know my popular childhood/teenager cartoon. Well I know the classic were a little bit childish. But hey, it's history. :D

P.S. My apologize for what I said about your movie. Can you forgive me? :(

Good attempt at your first walk cycle.

I noticed you used a lot of frame by frame to move the legs.

The feet should bend a little bit because each foot has a series of bendable joints.

Try flexing different parts of your feet and you will notice different joints.

Arms, legs, feet and hands are surprisingly complex pieces of machinery.

The guy's hands were a bit small for his body and his wrists can use improvement.

Practice by drawing your own hand and observing the details.

You will quickly become better at drawing hands with a bit of practice.

I liked the backgrounds utilized for this walk cycle.

I hope my criticism will help you with making future improvements.

KingSid1412 responds:

wo...thanx alot Mightydein... I will surely note down ur tips and suggestions....and I will try better and harder next time...thanx alot mightydein

This is better than most other people's first movies produced on this website.

I like how you practiced animating walk cycles, fire and a entire variety of effects.

You can potentially recycle some of your older animation effects for other proposes.

Unfinished projects can potentially be used to finish other projects.

You shown a lot of significant improvement on day 7.

I look forward to seeing your new animations.

Keep drawing.

Kalixo responds:

Thank you very much, I appreciate the feedback :)

Your voice provided narration for the cartoon and you did a good job in that department.

Some of the frames color chooses seem to stick in my memory for an unexplained reason.

You got some interesting concepts and the movie has some humorous subject matter.

I like the icon you selected for this movie since it captured my attention.

I kinda like your crude drawings but it's presentation called an increased attention to flaws.

The simple drawings would have looked a whole lot better with motion tweens, Fbf, shape tweens, ect.

The movie wasn't polished enough to compensate for the slide show presentation.

A still picture scrolling across a background can effectively work as animation in some instances.

You could effectively use something called a motion tween as one possible animation technique.

Slide show presentation can work as another effective animation technique.

Animation short cuts can sometimes produce an effective illusion of movement for less time and effort.

Sometimes you can trick the audience into seeing more movement than there really is.

Look into something called limited animation.

The slide show presentation didn't seem to suit your movie in my honest opinion.

Try to make your future slide shows more like motion comics.

I didn't like the movie but do want to see you become more successful.

I hope my advice helps you to move more towards a successful direction.

Better luck on your new movies.

Solwings responds:

thank you for your honest review man ill be sure to improve in the future

ill be sure to look into limited animation in the future

i have used motion presets in the past and it makes for a very polished looking flash when combined with frame by frame

however i have not looked into shape tweens that might be a good flash subject to learn about

anyway i thought this flash movie would be a good weekend project and i will be sure to make my movies better quality in the future
