The music of this movie was very tranquil and seemed to slow things down.

The pace was easy going.

The music combined with animation created a very peaceful feeling.

I love all the frame by frame animation used for this movie.

Using frame by frame displays more effort than other forms of animation because each drawing slightly changes with each new frame.

The collection of drawings accumulate overtime and the final result is moving drawings.

The great thing about animation is how it is possible to view an alternative universe.

The world of fantasy in it's purest form can be created with human hands.

I love cartoons because it offers the closest possible glimpse into the imaginations of others.

People sometimes have funny fantasies, sick fantasies, sad fantasies, ect.

Animation offers a lot of freedom because it doesn't have the same limitations as live action.

It is pretty much possible to draw anything and than move those drawings.

Most other cartoons share the same power; However, the motion tween feature is utilized more often than fbf.

A well executed tween is a very useful tool to assist with animation.

It can sometimes blend well together with frame by frame.

The entire movie is mostly pure frame by frame animation.

I award high points based on the usage of this very difficult way of creating flash animation.

I'm personally not a fan of these speed drawing videoes to be perfectly honest.

I find many of these speed drawing videoes to be boring; However, it can often be interesting to observe the drawing and coloring techniques of other artists.

I notice you plan your colors out by first doing some experimentation on scrap paper before deciding on appropriate colors.

I never thought to work out my colors on scrap paper before choosing colors.

I may have to steal that technique for coloring my own drawings on paper.

This movie can be improved upon by including the names of your art supplies, time spent on drawing, ect.

On screen statistics is very useful information to include for educating your audience.

The brand of paints, markers, coloring pencils will help potential audience members in buying possible art supplies.

I noticed you used certain japanese brands of marker.

The video was a very generic speed drawing video and future speed drawing videos can be enhanced.

Next time include statistics on time spend and brands of art supplies.

AngelsDead responds:

Thanks for your honesty!

You may steal that technique :3

The only difficult thing is that I dont know how to add time worked at the drawing and the artsupplys I used :/

But Ill try to learn it!

You created an original skit using your own characters and are utilizing the voice talents of either one actor or two.

Each character was given an entirely distinct suitable for the character designs.

One of the voices sounded like a child's voice; However, the character design seemed to be tailor designed.

A lot of your characters look very young and a youthful voice is not out of place.

I seen movies produced by younger kids that gave kid voices to adult characters.

It didn't work and made the overall movie increasingly amateurish.

You made certain that the voices fit together with your designs and managed to avoid a very common mistake.

I will assume you are a flash animator under the age of 20 and asked friends to do voices.

You seem to show a lot of promise and have started creating flash from a young age.

Most other animators on this site start in their late teens or adult years.

You already got a head start against your future rivals.

The movie itself would be something that I would consider to be average standard.

The fake PSA is a cliched comedy devise; However, the movie does have a good sense of humor.

The drawings on the characters use the standard black outline.

You can try experimenting with other outline colors to create different looks.

The backgrounds seemed to use different colored outlines and have shown more experimentation.

The skies in the background were clear.

Clear skies eliminates the work load of needing to create constantly moving clouds.

A moving cloud background can be creating using frame by frame or motion tweens.

I assume that you already knew this because you already display previous experience with animation creation.

The background on the tomb stone did have clouds; However clear skies would have worked here too.

Make those clouds in the background move to farther enhance visual elements of your movie.

The sky itself could have been created by using the gradient feature of flash.

Creating your own gradients is a simple way for creating more polished skies.

You can also use a mixture of solid colors and really experiment on different animation tactics.

The beauty of drawing the sky is that it can not be done incorrectly.

The sky is constantly moving and changing.

You can easily get all kinds of inspiration by observing the actual sky itself.

I seen the sky in white colors, red colors, brown, dark brown, black and different types of clouds.

You can do simple tweaks to create better skies for adding an extra element of polish.

The shadows worked well in the second shot after the robot was introduced at the start.

The shadows on the kid had clear direction; However, a darker shade on the kid's hair would have been more effective.

The shadow on the kid's hair was lighter than the original color and barely noticeable without inspection.

That shade of blue on the hair is more suitable for light rather than shadow.

The buildings in the background would cast their own shadows depending on the direction of the sun.

The windows on the one building near the kid would act as mirrors.

The backgrounds on the first shot were effective and filled with plenty of gags.

The windows on those stores could be enhanced as well by showing part of the inside.

You might see a fridge, shelves, counters and other details often seen in store windows.

You can also include signs on the doors that post store hours.

You can improve upon these details with both practice and increased observation.

A robot can be drawn in any fashion since it's an object that doesn't physically exist in reality.

You can basically work from your imagination and draw different types of robots without reference material.

I hope to have provided a detailed review for farther enhancement of future submissions.

Keep pumping those movies out.

You, my man, have earned a follower.

The voice of homer simpson is very distinct and easily recognizable.

Distinct voices for each character in a cartoon will bring animated characters to life.

The characters in your movie sounded like simpsons characters because of the audio utilized.

The drawings for this movie were very amateurish; However, the characters had very expressive faces.

Your own twist was placed onto an audio excerpt from the simpsons.

I would be interested in seeing movie with more original audio.

I would have added a lot more points had the movie displayed more originality.

Do more movies with that same style.

-Mightydein

theFierceKid responds:

Trust me man. I do. I did this because my friends would not expect something like this. Your response is very educated and I completely agree. Thanks.

The doctor in this movie was not very smart since bones are supposed to be in the body.

The gag about; "There is a skull inside your baby" was a very silly gag.

The mother freaking out has added a lot of humor to that one line of dialogue.

I like the expressive faces of your characters.

The outline of the city used multiple shapes for the buildings instead of outlines for square buildings.

You did a good job on this silly movie.

- Mightydein

drainzerhg responds:

The "gag" is that he´s not the real doctor, it´s just a guy who took the doctor´s robe and pretend to be him, lol

-DrainzerHG

The brush strokes were very sketchy and a lot of the colors had unfilled gaps and areas.

I love all the frame by frame animation used for this movie; However, some of the animation was a bit jumpy.

Smooth animation generally takes a certain level of experience gained from practice.

You used the same shade of white for eyes, paper, clouds, white clothing, ect.

You can improve upon coloring by applying different shades of the same color to many of these everyday objects.

The shade of white for paper is gonna be different to a white clouds, white clothing and the whites of eyes.

The graphics for the sky background can be enhanced by using a gradient and than making the background clouds move.

I love seeing moving clouds in cartoon backgrounds because it adds a certain sense of reality to the world of fantasy.

The city can use a bit of improvement since because the city was drawn as a series of square buildings with windows.

An actual city has many different kind of building structures in a entire variety of shapes.

A city is actually very difficult to draw.

If you live in a city than you can practice by taking some portable art supplies with you and draw your general surroundings.

I like the multiple camera angles used.

The music was a nice touch and the sound effects worked too.

The characters mostly talked with body language; However, the love note would need translation into other languages.

You could upload this flash to non english speaking websites and 99% would still be understood in a universal context.

The movie is passable; However, the movie's biggest flaw are the messy brush strokes and uncolored gaps.

I hope this review provides plenty of useful feedback to directions towards improvement.

shadowfox234 responds:

Dude thank you so much for this review. Many things had to be change in this animation due to time, even my background artist had to quickly draw the background in a few days due to her finals and the same goes for me for coloring. Next year I'm a senior and I plan to practice over the summer to improve my skills so my senior film will be better than my Jr film.

This movie is basically a skit about a character from gravity falls kicking strong-bad out of his property.

The characters themselves were drawn in the style as the originals.

I usually prefer seeing fan art drawn more towards the distinct style of the author.

You could draw the gravity falls character and strongbad in all kinds of humorous ways.

It was an okay movie but didn't really strike me as funny.

I like the vocal impressions of the characters because strongbad sounded like strongbad.

The gravity falls character's impression was also dead on.

Accurate voice impressions add a certain element of professionalism to the overall movie.

I didn't like the movie but have noted your effort with this review.

- Mightydein

obsu responds:

Those aren't impressions

I liked the voice-overs used for this movie; However, the female voices sounded like they came from the same actress.

She did good voice disguises; However, a second actress would have been more ideal for your animation.

That chick is a good voice actress and you should assign roles to her in future flash movies.

She seems to have a good ability for creating a voice disguise.

The music didn't strike me as memorable.

Now on to the graphics department of my review.

I like the multiple camera angles and how you were always trying out different animation poses.

You used a few lights and shadows on your characters; However, the backgrounds were the least polished element of your movie.

I would advise you to take portable art supplies and take inspiration off of environments outside for improvement on backgrounds.

The night time sky does sometimes have clouds and many of your night time backgrounds also had clouds, stars, ect.

The stars can be done in multiple colors and some of them can disappear and reappear.

There really is no wrong way to draw the sky because it is constantly changing.

A well placed motion tween or fbf will help to create a better looking sky.

I like seeing the clouds constantly move in the backgrounds in animations.

It's a certain sense of reality to the fantasy world of animation even if the clouds are drawn poorly.

The backgrounds also need it's own lights and shadows for interaction with the characters.

I'm just saying that your backgrounds can potentially be more polished.

The character drawings themselves can use a bit of improvement as well; However, you are already stepping in the right direction by experimenting with multiple animation poses at a variety of angles.

I love how the sky changed color as night time changed to morning.

You utilized the shape tween feature of flash very well.

You did a great job on drawing the chainsaw.

The grass on the ground can use a bit more detail.

The animations used for blood splatter can use a bit more polish but is generally passable for this movie.

Check out a few movies by the newgrounds use. ''Livecorpse''

Livecorpse did excellent blood effects for his flash movies.

Sickdeathfiend also created gory flash movies but his drawing style was more detailed and complex.

Check both of their flash movies out for inspiration on how to animate your own gory scenes.

Trashy horror movies, Troma movies, Early Peter Jackson will also provide inspiration for ways to animate gore.

It's a good idea to have multiple sources of inspiration for your animations because we all borrow ideas from multiple sources.

To understand how to destroy the body in your cartoons than it is also important to understand putting the forms together.

I just finished reviewing the graphics aspect of movie and provided ideas on improvements for future movies.

The movie itself has a very funny premise about the grave robbers playing around with corpses.

You clearly love trashy horror movies and took a bit inspiration off of that genre.

Horror has many of it's own genres such as splatter, comedy, suspense and others.

This movie was clearly a comedy horror with strong elements of splatter.

This movie wasn't laugh out loud funny in my opinion but it still caused me to smile.

If you can't be funny than at least be entertaining.

You've accomplished creating a very entertaining movie but many of your drawings still need a bit refinement.

I was entertained by your movie.

This was an extremely well made amateur cartoon.

guitarrob responds:

Thank you so much for the review. I'm glad you liked it.

Although I did use two female voice actresses. Victoria Hutton played as Cloe and Cyber-B played as Vicky. But I can see what you mean by the two sounded similar to one or the other.

And I do intend to practice more drawings and improve my drawing skills. So thanks for the heads up.

I'll check those flash movies that you have recommended soon. They sound like my kind of thing. :)

This fight scene was obviously influenced by Dragonballz and it's many tributes.

These dragonballz inspired fight scenes tend to be a dime a dozen on the internet.

I like how the video game sprites were manipulated into having plenty of fighting poses.

You selected well edited sprite sheets; However, I will subtract a few points because the sprites were not your creation.

You did give the original sprite authors credit for their work.

Additional credit needs to go to the original graphic designers for those video games.

Sprite movies are generally judged by a higher standard than drawn movies.

Your audience expects more out of sprite movies.

You can teach yourself how to draw by editing your own sprite sheets.

Get yourself some graph paper for templates for creating sprites.

You can practice by coloring the squares on graph paper and than create those sprites on computer.

Graph paper will help you with creating original sprites.

Old video game designers had to know how to draw to create classic 8 bit/16 bit games.

The sound effects were obviously the very distinctly dragonballz.

Many of those battle sound effects are recognizable and heavily used in other internet cartoons.

I personally didn't like this movie but have noted the effort placed in to it.

I hope this review provides you with useful feedback for improvement and encourage you to try other things.

Better luck next time.

SpacePea responds:

Sooner or later i will create my own characters in that style. But the already existing characters i will have to use from others!

The movie's lights and shadows could use a bit of work.

I like the glow off of the computer screen acting as a source of light; However the room is not darkened.

The light bulb in the room would be another source of lighting in your scene.

It's difficult to create lights and shadows off of more than one light source.

It takes a bit of practice to work with multiple light sources.

You can practice using one possible light source for the room by darkening the lights.

The brightly colored room in the first scene tells me the lights are on.

I like how the transparent glass effect used on the bong and you likely used the alpha settings in flash.

Those alpha settings for creating transparent graphics are very effective for glows, glass, smoke, ghosts and others.

The backgrounds in the room look to be created outside flash itself.

The wall was likely created in a digital art program such as Photoshop or GIMP.

I noticed the nerd had a lugi figure and wore a my little pony T-shirt.

The nerd's thick glasses would reflect light off of both the computer and light bulb in the room.

I don't get the references on the nerd's posters but they are likely just random drawings.

You made a good decision about including posters because his walls would be otherwise bare.

A lot of your animation was a mixture of frame by frame, tweens and movieclips.

The brush strokes were a bit sloppy in places but generally the overall art is passable.

I hope to have help provide constructive feedback for improvement in the graphics department.

Now onto the movie itself.

Video games and computers are mostly associated with nerds despite these being everyday sources of entertainment.

The character design is based on the nerd stereotype and the voice actor did a very fitting voice.

The nerd voice used is a bit of movie cliche.

The original nerd voices were basically making fun of eccentric individuals with strong obsessions.

A fanboy of grand theft auto with a strong obsession would definitely qualify as a nerd.

The extremely slow download gag is another cliche.

This cliche is about an exaggerated wait time in anticipation.

The nerd waited for grand theft auto to download on his PC so long that he basically turned into a skeleton.

That long wait for the download basically killed him.

The nerd as a skeleton can actually move and can actually respond to sounds.

He can function normally but the download speed was too much for him.

This was a good parody on how the Grand theft auto game is most likely way too big for most computers.

Your movie didn't really strike me as either bad or good.

I would rate it about passable and average at best.

I hope this review provides you with plenty of in-depth analysis for future improvements.

Continue to make more movies, stick with drawing and keep practicing.

MrMattimation responds:

Hi there, thanks for the review and constructive criticism! If you were curious, the backgrounds are made in Paint Tool Sai.

I created cartoons for newgrounds since 2003 and collaborated with artists such as livecorpse, Billy Monks and others.
I'm also known as PowerRangerYELLOW on my alt account.
I hope to make more cartoons soon.
